Healthy Eating and Active Lifestyles for Pre-School Children and Their Families

Healthy eating and active lifestyles are essential for children’s health and wellbeing and it is important that families encourage and practice these behaviours, for life. If you wish to learn about the importance of physical health and healthy eating and how families can be supported to adopt active lifestyles, then this short course could be for you. You may be a parent or someone working in, or thinking of working in, the Child Care sector.

Internal Quality Assurer

If you wish to quality assure (verify) the assessment practice within a vocational training centre or work environment, then this course could be for you. You might already be an assessor, working in the Further Education or Skills sector.

Lead Internal Quality Assurer

If you wish to lead the quality assurance of assessment in a vocational subject/s within your centre, then this course could be for you. You might already be performing an internal quality assurer role, working in the Further Education or Skills sector, or you might be starting out in this role.
If you are already qualified as an internal quality assurer and just want to become qualified to lead the activity, you may be exempt from aspects of the course and able to claim a part-refund. Please talk to us about recognition of prior learning.

Physical Development in the Early Years

Physical activity is essential for child development and wellbeing. If you wish to learn about the role of physical activity in the development of the whole child, and ways to monitor physical development, then this short course could be for you. You may be a parent or someone working in, or thinking of working in, the Child Care sector.

Supporting Physical Development in the Early Years

If you are trained as, or training to be, an Early Years’ practitioner, educator, teacher or child minder this course will enable you to deliver fun and meaningful physical activity to children aged 2-5 years with confidence. You will also learn how to promote healthy eating and active living to the families of the children in your care.

Teacher Training

This course provides an introduction to teaching. If you already work, or want to work, as a teacher/trainer in the Further Education or Skills sector this course could be for you.
It can meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers, such as individuals not currently teaching or training, individuals new to teaching or training and individuals currently working as assessors who wish to learn about teaching.

Understanding Internal Quality Assurance

If you are considering the role of internal quality assurer of assessment in a vocational subject, or need to know about internal quality assurance but are not currently practising, then this knowledge-only course could be for you. You might be assessing learners on a vocational programme.

Understanding Vocational Assessment

If you are considering a role in vocational assessment, or need to know about assessment practice but are not currently practising, then this knowledge-only course could be for you. You might be delivering the training on a vocational programme or performing the role of internal quality assurer/verifier.

Vocational Assessor

If you wish to assess others within your field of competency in a vocational training setting such as an FE college or a school, then this course could be for you.

Coaching in School Sport

If you are qualified or practicing sports coach wishing to support the delivery of sport in schools, primary and/or secondary, then this course could be for you. This programme is designed to complement National Governing Body coaching awards and provide you with access to supported learning opportunities and peer support, which will combine to enable you to develop the skills to support the delivery of school sport. This course will provide you with evidence to demonstrate your continuing professional development (CPD) to employers.
